2003 Range Rover over heating!!!! HELP!!!
Hi I have a 2003 Range Rover and I just had the issue with the top radiator hose popping off while I was driving. I stopped before the truck hit the red and had my truck towed. I clamped the hose back on and put new coolant in the car, but it's still over heating. The top hose doesn't seem like anything is flowing through it. How much coolant does it take, did I not put enough in or is it the radiator or water pump???? Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.
I dont know how much coolant it takes, I think 2 gallons, have 3 to be safe.
Make sure you bleed the cooling system properly, turn all heaters to full hot, that means both front passengers and the rear passengers as well.
Idle the engine with the radiator cap off, open any bleed screws and leave them open until all air is out of the system, then close them with the engine still running.
I'm guessing you are around 150,000 miles or so and you would be right around the miles the water pump were to go bad.
So I'd look into that after trying to bleed the system.

I'm probably way off then, cause I didn't even use a whole bottle of the one liter concentrate which makes two liters depending on how much coolant was left after the whose shot off. It was the top hose so I think some probably didn't get out or is it that much pressure in the system? My Range Rover only has 60K miles. I'll try adding more coolant and bleeding the lines. Is there another way to add coolant besides filling the reservoir? It fills up, then I guess I would have to let it run then fill it again. Thanks a lot for replying.
