Default 2004 Freelander won't start

I only have 14,000 miles on the car. I started having problems with starting it about two months ago, but after turning the key off and on starting again it always started. Until last week. I drove to the post office without problems, but when I came out it didn't start. just died on me. Crank yes but no fire. I live on an island in the middle of the Pacific, no LR service here, so I towed it to the MB dealer. They changed the cranker sensor and it starts intermittenly now. They said just keep trying it eventually will start. Anyone else with similar problem?

Check engine light on? Have the fuel pump checked. Also check your ignition switch. More information will be helpful if you can provide more.
