all you need is a good machine shop, you can either do it your self or pay a good mechanic to do it for you BTW replace all hoses and gaskets and other things as needed i just finished mine spent about 1500 cool deal i know someone in los angeles who can even replace your lines or repair you block in the worst scenario PM me if yoou have any ??

Hello!
I am writing in as a new member, but have visited this sight before and have graciously used info for my own beloved disco 2000.
with that being noted..
I had just had an oil change and three days later the 'service engine soon' light came on and it smelled of antifreeze and gas put together..
I freaked out (because I love the car soooo much) and put it in park and called a mobile mechanic to diagnose it.
the outcome he has told me is
- a blown head gasket which, goes w/out saying,
quite expensive...
(please excuse me, but painful to say out loud
eh, ehm..)
"Just drive it (Betty) into the ground -he casually states 'till it (Betty) doesnt run any more..
u really have no other options/why waste 1000's of dollars??"
OMG!...
Does he realize this is the ONLY car I have EVER REALLY loved and been COMPLETELY responsible with?!!
*I apoligize to the other cars I've had in the past*
-oil changes every 3000 miles.. CHECK!
-regular tune-ups.. CHECK!
-treated as my own child lol... CHECK!
and now a stranger is suggesting that I treat her as if she were already in the junk yard... oi I am super depressed..
the fans for the heat & air conditioning stopped working a while back so I guess I'm hoping there is a possible 2cnd opinion out there..
sorry to be so dramatic..
-but I love her
