Question 2008 Disco 3 TDV6 cat overheating

hi there,

Last chance of my Landy before sell it, please help if you had similar problem.

About a year ago we smelled some smokie air in the car after start the engine.
The end of the problem was a fire during travel..

After many try to solve the problem our mechanic found out that the problem is the following:
The sensor which measures the temperature of the catalizator signs that the cat is not warm enough so the computer increases its temp however it is warm enough.
We changed already the sensor - happened nothing.
(This overheating has the high risk of burning out as I wrote above)

Do you have any idea to keep it at normal level of temp?
