Default 2008 Lr2 alarm going off randomly

Hope you can all help me...
We have a 2008 Lr2 and the alarm keeps going off randomly. Sometimes 4 times a day. It does this when the car is not even locked. We do sometimes get the message that the drivers door is open while we are driving as well and then cannot lock the car.
Local dealer wants about 800 to replace parts in the door but not totally convinced that it will fix it.

Any my advice is appreciated. I am handy enough to repair it or service something but looking for all your expert advice. Have already done the bonnet switch as I thought that was the original problem.

I know this is an older thread, but I am now experiencing the exact same problem in my 2008 LR2. Did you ever figure it out?
