Default 2009 panel corrosion

Hi Ive joined this forum for a friend who has no computer knowledge or access , I believe they have been fobbed off by Land Rover and suggested coming on here for some advice , so hear goes .

My friend has a 2009 land rover , at the front of each wheel arch on both sides of the vehicle there are a series of bubbles that have blistered through the paint , it looks very much like corrosion , he took it too landrover and they have told him that its because he has used the vehicle in arduous conditions and not followed the correct procedure for washing it ???

I personally know this vehicle and would argue its probably one of the best kept landrovers you will find as it rarely used off road and has only covered 29k miles
Has anyone ever heard of anything like this as he has been told it will not be covered under warranty .

Please help

Regards

Graham

What model does he have?
Where does he live?
Do they use salt on the roads in the winter?
Does he drive on the beach and splash in the ocean?
I know exactly what you are talking about, blistering paint and if you were to chip off the paint you would find rust.
I have not seen it on a Rover but lots and lots of other cars and trucks, road salt sits ontop of the fender on a lip that you cant see, it does not get washed away when you wash the car and it starts to corrode.
He needs to read his owners manual and find out about the corrosion coverage, it is clearly stated in the owners manual.
