Hey everyone, I bought my first LR about a year ago. I have loved every minute with her! She’s a 2011 LR2 and she’s started making a whirring noise that sounds faster or slower based on the speed I’m driving. I’m not exactly mechanically inclined but I just had the oil changed about a month ago and new tires about three months ago. I have been googling everything and cannot figure out if my engine is an interference engine or not. I was told by a mechanic that I need brakes and something else (I can’t remember if he said brakes and rotors or calipers). I’m wondering if the whirring noise could come from needing brakes and such and if someone can please tell me if my engine is interference or not. If it is, she has 91K miles on the odometer. Would it be a good idea to have the chain/belt changed out soon? Thank you in advance for any assistance!
