Default 3.9 change out

I am taking out the 3.9 in my 94 disco for a rebuild or replacement. (If it comes down to replacement) Are there any options for a larger replacement engine?if sowhat are they?do they require a transmission upgrade? I just bought a gas friendly car and want to turn my disco into a trail truck. Any help will be greatly appreciated

You could swap up to a 4.6 Rover engine, but you might want to consider doing some cam and head work on your 3.9 and get the same results.

The 3.9 is a good engine to use as a base for tail truck, if you have no major probs with your old engine then just rebuild it, add a hi torque cam n off you go!!
