300tdi engine whine, oil spill
Hi there,
New member and recent new land rover owner here
I was driving at 70-75mph for several hours in my 95' 300tdi, and during some particularly heavy accelerating I hear what sounds like a loud pop and pressure release from the drive train.
There was no change in the drive feel, but from then on there was a high pitched whine at high revs in any gear. When I pulled over to have a look underneath there was oil spattered all over the transfer case, drive shaft and generally all over the place. But when I checked the oil level it seemed to be in order, no further visible oil leaks. Drives as normal.
My concern is that the whine persists and I don't want to damage the car any further by continuing to drive. Any ideas on cause/remedy?
