ok, i have a 95 manual transmission discovery with 128k miles runs great, but the other day i drove about 100 yards and the transfer case or 4x4 shifter popped into neatreul so i put it back and it drove about 1/4 mile and sounded and felt like it did the same thing but when i checked it wasnt out of high gear . i tryed lo, high and locking the diffs but it will not move. also the drive shaft doesnt move i can put it in gear and get out of the truck and it doesnt stall or move. when i put it in gear it sounds like clicking allmost. it has always been real jerky i dont know if that has anthing to do with it. i think i broke the gear box or transfer case not sure...

 

You need to start by checking the fluid level in the transfer case, I am betting you ran it dry and fried it.
