The maf has been changed to a brand new one, and I've unplugged it and had no change, tried unplugging every sensor I could see besides crankshaft and camshaft sensors with no avail, and the problem with a ecu reset is I'm nowhere near anyone who works on these things so nobody has a scanner for one

ok...before you attempt to reprogram the ecu, un hook the battery, unplug the ecu connectors and remove the ecu.....open it up and see if there ae any signs of corrosion inside it....fairly common.....a damp mess inside will definitely affect its ability to work...its worth a look, many times the fender well it rests on will rust out and make your life hell....personal experience

I too deal with intermittently running ridiculously rich. Same symptoms but not regularly. Every damn thing related to the fuel I have changed out, inspected, or tested short of putting in a new maf, which, every time I test is within range. I know what you mean about the smell being RIDICULOUS. You can smell the money burning up.

I’ll find it eventually. There’s a reason. Just gotta keep plugging away....
