Hello everyone im new and if you need some more info i posted in the new member thread. I have a misfire problem and need to go through emissions by the 23rd (running on temps) the cel is on detecting random multiple misfires etc on cyl 3,5,6. I just did plugs and wires last week when i got the disco a month ago it was running really rough but i have gotten pretty smoothed out. I already purchased a full set of coils and they come in mon or tues. Any possibility that coils might not be the cause? It has 149k miles and as far as i can tell they have never been changed. My father when he first got it seven years ago only changed the plugs with cheap ones. I only burn prem gas and just put a new air filter in. I do need to rewire my o2 sensors as they aren't reading properly. Other than that its running quite fine now. It used to get abt 5 mpg and now its around 10-12. I got the disco for free and currently have abt $500 invested in.

 

Best plugs are the cheap ones, Champion coppers. Misfires are hard to pinpoint because several things can cause them like not having good upstream O2 sensors which can cause overly rich fuel mixture. If you can pull and post codes that helps somewhat in determining causes. Also since you're a D1 owner its better to post in that section because more of us D1 owners (former) can see it.
