Default Accessing blower

I just got an '01 Disco II. It had been sitting (some of the time wide open) for a year or so and there are a lot of water damage/mold issues I'm addressing. Right now, I'm trying to get to the blower under the glove box. So far, I took out the glove box and kick panel, and removed the four large bolts, but I can still see where it is attached with screws. I need to at least get to what looks like a filter because it's jammed up with mold/crap (see picture). Before I proceed to a point of no return, I want to have some clue of what I need to do. Anyone had any luck with this? Thanks in advance.

you can just unbolt the blower motor from the bottom, the squirrel cage will come out with it.

Thanks, I got that out (nice and packed with leaves). But this filter is above that and I can't see how to get it out.

Here is a diagram of the nasty little piece I'm looking to replace:
