air suspension question/ help
So I went ahead and took the plunge and bought 4 new air struts for my 03 range rover mkIII. I replaced just the front driver side bag and was having troubles with a bolt on the passenger side so im on hold with that. it looks to be that my driver side bag was the leaky one because once I re set the system the bags work again and hold air.
My question-
now every time I stop and turn my car off it lowers the front a tad then airs it back up right after.
-Its been a cold night and when I went out this morning it was still at driving height, but when I got in the car I could hear the compressor running then when I started the vehicle it turned off.
I have had this car for close to 5 years and I don't remember it doing that, and as far as the level adjustments it makes itself was far and few between. my question, is there still a leak? and is this constant adjustment going to hurt my compressor. PLEASE HELP

hi there did the obd on the dash board diagnostics indicate that there was a suspension issue? i own a 1998 mkii rr and the obd alerted me that the suspension had failed and went into safe mode which would not allow me to drive the rangey more than 50km per hr, a real pain. one bag a had a hole in it but all four were replaced. if the compressor still going then you may still have a leak somwhere hopefully the missing bolt is the answero take it to a dealer so the can scan it, or better still buy one youself for around $50--$150 and get the codes. make sure the scanners are obd11 and CAN readable from 1996 models onwards.
pjbbz, thanks for the response! I do have software from rswsolutions with the obdII port plugin. on the suspension it says there is a " CAN bus fault" and I also believe it also states something like " compressor inactive heats up"? not really sure what it means. Its almost like it re levels itself all the time with no reason
Hi there reading up what this message means is CAN bus is a message-based protocol, designed specifically for automotive applications but now also used in other areas such as aerospace, maritime, industrial automation and medical equipment.
CAN bus (for controller area network) is a vehicle bus standard designed to allow microcontrollers and devices to communicate with each other within a vehicle without a host computer.
It is possible that the relay is not working
