Default Alarm randomly going off

I have a Land Rover LR2 2010. My car alarm has gone off twice today. Once midday, the other late night. The dashboard reads bonnet open but my hood is not open. Is it a faulty sensor? If so can I just turn it off?
Thanks in advance.

Try unplugging the alarm switch under hood.

Buy a new sensor and install at the latch...

Or:

Find the sensor at the latch and either unplug and jump a wire from one side of the connector to the other or strip a section of insulation back on both wires around an inch or so back from connector and twist them together then cover with electrical tape.

Unplugging won't help.
