Already a Problem
Hello everyone. I just bought a 03 Disco HSE yesterday, and as soon as I pull it off the lot the check engine light comes on. I take it back to the dealer and he runs a check and says #4 cyl is misfiring. Is this a common problem? Possible reasons for misfire? Any help would be greatly appreciated, since I come from having a Mustang Mach I and a Lightning, these Discos are Mysterious and strange to me
. Thanks
. Thanks
How many miles on your truck, did you check to see if your engine is one of the ones on Rovers list of possible oil pump/engine failures?
Any misfire can happen and most likely the truck hasn't been tuned and had the plug wires replaced.

I just printed off your high mileage service list, and I'll probably be tackling some of it this weekend. I just don't know if it's just a plug, wires, coil pack, or if it is something major that these vehicles are known to have problems with. So I thought I would ask since I know little about these vehicles.
