Back windows won"t work now.
Hey, Checked both fuses on the panel of my 98 disc neither is blown, front windows work. Is their a circuit breaker somewhere? window lock not on by the way. Thanks for the help solved two problems. Love my new toy.
I had the same problem with my 99 Disco two years ago. At first, the windows went down and stayed down. The next day I started the car and 'voila' back up. That afternoon, I put them down a few inches and they were stuck.
I was able to resolve the problem with a by-pass kit that Atlantic British sells for the Disco Series 1's. Its only $15 so it may worth trying yourself. Check it out at:

It comes with step by step instructions and takes all of 15 minutes. The ECU for the rear windows is behind the glove box. You'll need to remove the cardboard fascia trim under as well but its very straightforward. The connections are press-fit so there's no need to solder anything.
Best of luck.

Awsome! Thanks a lot. I'll remove my glove box now and check it out. The kit looks just like a wire with a harness thing. 15 bucks I think i'll just order it. Does this fix the problem forever? permanatly bypassing a faulty part?
