Better Traction for the LR3

Better Traction for the LR3
I own an 06 LR3 HSE and recently went off- roading with it. Everything went well until we tried to climb a trail that had some of the slickest clay I have ever come across in my life. We might as well had been on ice once the shallow treads on the factory tires got full of clay. Has anyone come across a good upgrade for factory spec tires on the LR3 that provides better off- road grip WITHOUT adding to tread noise on the road and keeping the low profile look? That's asking much, I know but perhaps someone out there has hit gold and would not mind sharing their find!

RE: Better Traction for the LR3
I looked at the Nitto Terras but it would seem they don't make a 19' tire which is what my LR3 has. It would also seem that the BFG All Terrains are a good competitor for the Nittos, if only a bit more expensive. Not sure at this point if they make a suitable 19" tire or abouttread noise.Any more advice out there for a tire upgrade without requiring new wheels or adding excesive tread noise?
With the incredible ground clearance once you add extended mode and the further manualsuspension raisemade accesible after that, plus lockers in the rear and center dif, the LR3 is quite a serious off roader even in factory specs, with the sad exception that the factory tire selection is aimed more at on road performance andquiet ride. The shallow tread on the tires presents a problem when doing any off roading other than dry trails. Help needed, please!
