Default Blue-tooth for my OBD-II port

I really like the idea of a blue-tooth connection between my truck’s OBD-II port and my phone, but I’m committed to an iPhone for a number of reasons, and such things seem to be rare. Can anyone recommend a blue-tooth dongle that plays nicely with an iPhone? I’ve seen one or two products that promise to work, but would prefer an endorsement from someone on this forum.

Please don’t tell me that I should get an Android phone. I’ve been down that road.

Thanks.

I would advise the $69 Ultra Gauge, works if phone battery is dead, has an alarm you program to alert SWMBO that she has to stop, can monitor volts and engine temp in real time and display them. Reads and resets codes. Works when your phone is not in the truck. And no cop can give you a ticket for texting while driving.....

Thanks Savannah, but I already have a ScanGuage II which works well, as long as it's plugged in. I'm hoping to find something that doesn't have to present me with six feet of cord or require permanent installation in an already crowded dash.

I know... but if I wasn't a bit eccentric in the first place I probably wouldn't have given SWMBO my 2012 Mercedes so I could be driving a 14 year old Discovery.

No way SWMBO is getting my 93 300CE Cabrio. Vehicles were made better in the past (sometimes). They were certainly simpler to work on.

Where can I get an Ultra Gauge? Or what is the best code reader currently on the market?

Best reader? Your cell phone with an app.

I like the UltraGauge Blue for my iPhone and iPad... UltraGauge Blue OBDII Scan tool & Information Center
With the app you can customize and configure up to 10 gauges on one screen (7 screens=70 gauges total) of what you want to look at.
iPhone screenshot without bluetooth dongle connection...

Connected on iPad...
