Default Brake light switch

Can someone tell me how to access the brake light switch on a 2002 Disco II? I have seen threads for other years and models but wanted to be clear before I start digging around? Also, what tools, if any, are needed for the job? Thanks!

You need a panel pulling tool.

Under the steering column and dash fuse panel is a black panel just above the brake pedals. I think there are 4 plastic panel rivets that need to be removed. Remove panel, follow brake pedal up on pedal assembly and you will hit the brake light switch, pull out and disconnect wires.

You will be amazed at how easy it was.
