camping fridge
G’day all. I was looking for a fridge to take camping, but before I could decide my lovely wife bought me on off eBay (I was looking at them). I struggled with the cost of the “good quality” ones vs the relatively cheap “eBay” type ones. Well decision on my behalf. I am now the owner of an “easy cool 100l fridge/freezer”. I have not yet got it into the great outdoors, however I thought I would share my experience so far. It is in the garage (rather hot in afternoon, >40C) half full of drinks. The fridge side is set at +3 and the freezer at -3; or there about. On High it draws approx. 65 W, on low aprox 46W. minus the transformer approx. 4-4.5w. averaged out over a number of days it seems to use 770-930w per day, minus the transformer about 100w leaves 670-830w or 55-70 AHr a day. Obviously a bit more than the many it seems, however I also have another $500 to spend on batteries and solar panels. I think the cheaper route seems to work for me so far.
My next project is the LiFePO4 batteries-luckily they are about $500!
