I am looking at doing some maint on my Transfer Case and I thought perhaps I would like to upgrade to a Center Locking Diff.

Is there an 'easy' way to do this? Would for example an 04 bolt right in, would that be inexpensive? Or can I easily mod the current Transfer Case?

The only modification you can do is to change the nose assembly with a cdl capable one.
Outside of that it is a complete swap of the case. I would do the drop and swap. That way you can go through it and reseal and do bearings or whatever

 

Thank you. Quick question, what year would just bolt in? All of them? I have read here in the forum that the 04 is the one to go with... but it seems that is a little more price than some of the others.

 

Any will work....since you will have a chance to go through it anyway, I wouldn't get hung up on the year. 04 shifter is good
