Default Changing the instrument binnacle on a D2

Is there anyone who has changed their instrument binnacle on a D2? I have a European binnacle from new (originally fitted to the D2) and an installed British binnacle and would now like to install the European binnacle (it's solely in kilometres per hour) but does it have any detrimental effects when changing, typically with the alarm system or any specific coding or is it a straight uncomplicated swap over. Any knowledge or help would be gratefully received.

In North America the body control unit is programmed to make the odometer blink if the miles/km it displays do not match what is stored in the BCU. I don't know if other markets have them configured the same way. If you plug in the new gauge cluster and the odometer blinks you will either need to have the BCU reprogrammed to not care about the miles/km mismatch or you'll have to have the miles synchronized between the two component. The miles/km can only be increased. So if your original cluster has been sitting around since new, you would have the higher mileage stored in the BCU synced to the cluster. If for some reason you need to go DOWN in mileage, it cannot be down.
