Wow! Maybe everyone knows this already. OBD-Codes.com every land rover code. Now I found it but what the heck does- OXYGEN SENSOR HEATER CIRCUIT OPEN DOWNSTREAM mean? I may just try disconnecting the leads and clean the connections. Think that will work?

First what model, year and mileage??
That code is indicating that both the rear 02's have their heater circuit open, which shold be closed when at operating temp.

Thanks for the reply. It's a 98 disco, 92k miles. A guy at work said he saw a little blue smoke when i took off cold, I haven't seen it coming out of my exhaust. Does stink a little at start up. Not blow by, been watching my oil. maybe this sensor stuck open is the cause?

No, not for what you are describing.
Smoke can be normal for a cold Rover cause they run so rich when cold.
I am not sure what is causing both to be running, could be they are getting tired but even more so it could be an ECU issue.
I would talk with your mechanic and see what he says.

Maybe replacing them would fix it? Have check I'm sure their at least 100 bucks a piece. Emissions test will catch up to me soon, so I'll have to fix in the next few weeks. Think I'm gobbling up gas, I'm watching this tank full, I use premium.

Rear sensor's only function is to monitor catalyst performance. They have no inputs that affect engine performance/fuel economy.
Clear the codes and see if they return. If it is a hard fault, the code will return as soon as you start the engine. If so, get out the wiring chart and do a little testing. At this age and mileage, it could very well be an O2 sensor.
