Code po444 on 2003 Land Rover Discovery Se
My Land Rover has a service engine soon light on. I had the code pulled & it pulls up code po444. I was wandering if that would have anything to do with a air intake boot that might have a crack in it or would that be a totally different code. Thank you.
More likely evaporative control issues, start with remove/re-tighten fuel cap, check all vac lines and hard plastic lines from engine to evap canister area.

That usually points to the purge valve for the evap system. It's my understanding that the vehicle runs a check on the system upon starting and if that little guy malfunctions, even for a second, it will throw a code. It's not uncommon to have the light reset and never see the problem again. I'd start with erasing the code and waiting to see if it comes back. If it does you have a problem, if it doesnt then a gremlin just wanted to irritate you for a bit.
