crankshaft pulley

Default crankshaft pulley

Anyone know what way to loosen crankshaft pulley. Looking from front is it clockwise or counter clockwise. Its a 97 discovery.

Counter clockwise
Right hand thread
Tight, has 200'lbs on it

use a Loooooong pipe on your bar

Or go old school and remove the fuel pump relay so the engine won't run, then use a long breaker bar and a 15/16 socket and place it under the frame rail and secure it into place with a zip tie. Then use the LR to loosen it for you! Give it a small bump of the key and the engine rotating will loosen the bolt.

Or go old school
Major advantage is not having to prevent engine rotation when breaking the bolt loose. Usually quick and easy. We did the same a few months ago on a friends Nissan and he was amazed.
