Can anyone tell me what the difference between a 99-02 coolant exspansion tank and a 03-04. British atlantic is selling 99-02 for $70 dollars and 03-04 for $199. Just wanted to know if the price was justified for some special reason?

 

Good question, British Pacific only lists one number for 99-04 ($70 for allmakes, $219 for genuine). But when I looked at Microcat, Rover lists 2 different part numbers. 1 for up to VIN 2A73640, and a different part number after that so it would seem that late 2002 and newer take a different number. Looking at the prices you quoted from AB it is almost the same as the difference between aftermarket and genuine at BP. Can't really tell you what the difference is since I don't have one of each to look at.

Edit: so I looked at British Atlantic and they use the same VIN break as above. Wonder what the difference is and why BP says one fits all. Maybe you could call them and ask.
