Red face Coolant issues..URGENT help needed.

HI, sorry this is my first post but I am stuck and happy to have found such a great forum, hopefully you can help me with the current issue.

I have a 02 4.6 with serious coolant issues I cannot solve.

I first noticed I was loosing coolant and had various clamps replaced, I had the rad flushed, thermostat replaced even both head gaskets done last week. I continue to lose coolant and noticed the bottom rad hose remains COLD even after a good run. There are no visable leaks from other hoses or obvious areas, yet it is losing it somewhere. The temp gauge will occassionally go red than back to middle but otherwise it isn't overheating but threatens as much. I checked for any leaks on my floor and see or smell nothing ( looking to see if rings were gone ).

I also continue to have a miss fire in the number 6 cylinder even after replacing the coil packs, plaugs etc. I am hoping someone here could offer some more trouble spots to check or advice based on the COLD bottom rad hose ( when it should be warm ) and if the number 6 cylinder misfiring are connected issues or seperate. I know a cracked blocked is possible but what is the easiest way to check that ?

Any and all help appreciated. Thank you

You'll have email soon Mike. I drop by the shop shortly ( 830 am est ) and then head out of town for the day on business but my brother who works at the shop would love to talk with you I imagine. Thank you so much, we are really stumped here.

Sounds like a slipped sleeve in the block. The coolant is going into the combustion chamber, which is what's causing the misfire.
