Engine disabled, press remote. No remote when bought car. Used universal code 1515 and used sequence in driver door lock. Sometimes when disconnecting positive battery cable and hooking it back up and using code worked and lights would flash. I don't get the flashing lights anymore and can't mobilize the engine. Battery is brand new, ignition lights and radio work so can't be battery. Any way to bypass this ridiculous system. I love this car 1999 Land Rover, but giving alot of grief with this very intricate system. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you specify which model? Also if it's a discovery the D1 was made for the first part of 99 and the D2 the last part of 99.

You have what is called a P38. It's a 4.6, but that's not important.

I have an Autologic computer which also comes with tech support. I had a P38 with the same problem. Tried all the variations using my computer and finally the tech told me to do this:

1-Take off Driver door inner panel
2- find Green/red wire and Blue/red and splice in a separate wire to each.
3- connect both of these wires to a suitable ground.

Security system will now be satisfied. You should buy a new remote from the dealer to avoid this from happening again. If you need help you can email me, my address is in my signature.

Good luck

Thank you for your time and knowledge. I will try your steps and get back to you wether it works for me. These Ranges seem to have a mind of their own. Thanks again Abran!
