Denver - highly recommended LR Specialist
I really have to recommend"British4x4Ltd" of Aurora, Denver, Colorado.
An earlier visit to the main LR dealer they had told me my shuttle valve needed replacing and could not be just serviced - $1300 plus other work totaling over $2k. In addition my Disco head gaskets were going to need replacing. I got a kit and fixed the shuttle valve for $150 using the instructions on this forum.
So when my wife overheated the thing ion clouds of steam and nearly blew it up I thought that was the issue of the head gasket finally going. Brian gave a competitive quote for this work and we had it towed by AAA 100+miles to his shop. Turned out it was a small hose which had blown and he fixed a couple of other small items - No huge bill for head gaskets.Others may have just done the job anyway even though it did not cause the problem.
So this week the Disco started misfiring due to a faulty HT lead. I patched the lead but it needed a new set of leads and plugs. The Landrover dealer quoted a King's ransom and nobody local in Cheyenne would touch it. (Why Landrover thought that putting the distributor in such a place I do not know!). Brian quoted a fair price so my wife set off down there Friday. He dropped at the Mall whilst the job was being done, and picked her up again in our vehicle when he noted that a O2 sensor was playing up. Replaced that and we walked away with a bill of $300 for the whole job done in 2 hours.
I can thoroughly recommend this repair shop.
www.myrovertech.com 303-345-3866. He always quotes a complete price with tax included and does warn you if there may be additions and what those may be. NO BIG SURPRISES!
I HAD PREVIOUSLY CONSIDERED TAKING THIS DISCO OUT TO THE FIELD AND USING IT FOR TARGET PRACTICE!
