Just after a bit of advice please - just bought a 94 disco and took it off road at sibbertoft today- it was very stiff to shift between high and low but that seemed to free up but no matter how hard i tried i could'nt get the lever over for the diff lock - it is a V8 auto - how hard can you pull the lever.

This was a common problem with D1's that didn't get shifted very often.
Keep working the shifter but done force it, if you are lucky, with time it will free up, otherwise you may need to have a mechanic go in and free up the linkage

 

Just so I'm not confused, this lever engages the center differential? I have a 97 disco and was not sure about about the process to engage
