Default Disco 1 3.9L Vs. 4.0L Pistons

I am looking for a quick fix to a piston problem due to timing as I only discovered this issue few days ago before I had to go out of town. I have a broken Oil Control ring on my 97 Disco 4.0L Cyl 8. I have a 95 as a parts vehicle that was my daily driver until I got fed up with trying to deal with the clutch issues trying to bleed the clutch after replacing it. Anyway long story short, does anyone out there know the differences in the pistons (if any) from the 3.9 to 4.0 changes in 96? I am finding conflicting information about compatibility of Rings/ Pistons etc. I would like to use a piston from my 95 for my 97. They are in very good shape and meet a need for a quick fix as I don't have time to order a new ($186 on Rovers North) prior to a trip I am trying to take with the Rover in the next 4 days. I coincidentally new head/ gasket bolts in stock at my shop and the 95 motor is already torn 75% of the way down. I can order used/ recondition ones on ebay but still wont have in time. Swapping pistons on the right bank is actually quite easy and is about a 3-5 hr job based on attention span to the task. I don't want to get the piston out of the 97 taking it completely down to find out they are not compatible and become SOL.

Thanks in advance for anyone's help/ advice in this situation.
