Default Disco 2 dragging

Having issue with my truck again, this time the driver side tyre but initially I didn't know it was this particular side that is faulty but I perceived some smell like burning breakpad. The following day I went out again but this time after moving some distance smoke started coming out from this particular tyre and I saw that it's actually from the brakepad. I looked for a quick fix and took it to my mechanic garage and my mechanic did some work on it . After he fixed it and I drove the truck initially it moved fine but suddenly started dragging and at a point I packed and called my mechanic. He came and disconnected the ABS module and he removed some bolts on the tyre , only left 2 bolts on the tire and drove to his garage. Please what could be wrong with my truck tire this time?

Any advice is greatly valued.

Thanks.

you most likely need a new caliper. The piston is not retracting when you let off the brakes.

The caliper can be rebuilt but it is cheaper to get a used one and more satisfying to get a new one (in pairs).

Default Driving without ABS module

My mechanic finally found out that my ABS module is bad. And after installing different two ABS module there was no improvement and he suggested to bypass the ABS, he said if he does this everything will be back to normal but I wont be needing the ABS module again. Is this actually possible?

I've never heard of it, but that doesn't mean it is impossible. When you have the three amigos you have no ABS, so it stands to reason that you could disable it. When you say ABS module do you mean the device in your engine compartment or a computer box?

When you have no ABS, you have no traction control. The pulsing of your brakes via ABS is what tricks your differential into putting power to the tire with traction when the opposite tires lacks traction.

Why does he think three modules are bad? That sounds VERY unlikely... they may all have bad shuttle valves (78 bucks online) or you may have bad ABS sensors (I got two for 99 cents this week but try to find that deal again!) or hubs (80 dollars each). Did he use a nanocom or ABS Amigo or any other diagnostic tool? Or did he just swap them?

Sounds fishy.
