Question Disco died while driving and burns up fuses under dash

Hi, I have a 1997 Discovery. Recently replaced the fuel pump. Check engine light had come on soon after that. About a week later, was driving slowly through a parking lot and it just died and turns over but will not start. Checked the fuses, and one that has a picture of an engine was burnt up. Replaced it, and it just burnt up again. Tried to use one of those computer diagnostic things to find out what the problem was and says that it cannot link. Any help would be truly appreciated. Thanks.

Should have had the codes read right away before toasting the system. Your only shot will be to have a good Rover tech that does electrical issues, take a shot at it and see what you fried.

Of all the fuses to pop, you picked a good one. Satellite fuse panel 1, fuse 3, 20 amp, powers the engine computer (that's why it won't link up), four oxygen sensors, ignition coils, and the multi function relay. Here's a page from the RAVE electrical troubleshooting guide. Look for a cable from O2 being melted against something that gets hot, perhaps you'll be able to unplug O2 sensors, etc. The truck won't run at all with engine computer with no power, or ignition coils with no power, it won't run right with O2s unplugged.
