Default Disco II SLS warning light

The amber SLS, Tracion Control, and ABS lights came on. I had to turn the car off to make them go away. This has happened 2 times in the last 2 months. ANyone had this happen or know what it means? Any help would be appreciated. The SLS is still orginal, but I have had no problems whatsoever, other than sometimes deflating when on uneven ground. Thanks

Default RE: Disco II SLS warning light

What sort of driving were you doing when the lights came on, were you 4wheeling or driving hard on a loose surface? You have 2 problems going on. The ABS and T/C are related in that they both are tied into your brakes ABS system, you may have a dirty wheel sensor or one out of adjustment. Have your brakes been squeaking alot lately or do yoour front wheels have a lot of brake dust on them?? Are you using aftermarket brake pads and or rotors?
As for the SLS, is this the first time it has come on, how were you driving, were you wheeling thru some rocks or rough surface?
When the SLS light comes on, you have most likely set a code for a fault that will need to be checked, maybe adjusted and cleared. This will have to be done by a dealer who has what is refered to as a test book, which can be plugged into your trucks computer and will diagnois the problem.
Same for the brake problem, a test book or it's quivilant will be needed to read the codes.
Have someone check for the codes on both systems, have them write down the code number and the problem of both, then have the codes cleared. If you are lucky, the codes may go away as just being a short term problem based on your driving, or they may come back. If they come back, get back on this site and let us know what the codes were, what they told you needed to be fixed and the amount and lets see if we can help you.
