Disco transmission problems
I recently purchased a 1989 200tdi disco, very beat up but running sweet but with no drive. The chap i bought it off told me he had attempted to change from high to low via the transfer box and ended up with no drive what so ever.i have removed the round plate on the back of the transfer box ,started the engine and put into a gear any gear .Then had a look to see if i could see the shaft turning,No movement.i did consider maybe the clutch had gone but i appear to have pedal pressure. The gear box makes no sound what so ever when trying to engage gears with or without the clutch. Both levers feel connected ,as far as to say when i move the hi-lo lever and engaged diff lock it lights up but no drive.I have sourced a replacement gearbox but before i struggle on my own in rural france to replace, just wondered if anyone could suggest anything???? prior to removal Heres hoping.
