Default Discovery won't start

I have a 02 discovery I just got, great deal, the only catch is I have to get it running. When you put the key in all the dash lights come on, but the car won't crank or anything? Anyone have any ideas? The previous owner said it just stoped starting one day and they just let it sit.

Get battery checked. The battery may be weak.

Did you check the selector lever, make sure the selector lever switch is good.

Default update

So i went ahead and put a new battery in the truck, the old one was good but failed test 2 of 10 times. For the past few weeks its been fine yesterday it wouldnt start again seemed like battery was drained low. In days previous seemed like it was a little harder to start. anyways does anyone know what would drain the battery over time, I was thinking maybe a starter sylinod but didnt know if yall had some better guesses! any help would be great.

starters don't go but they do have issues with xyz switches.

if it happens again and its not a battery issue then look for a drain. batteries are weird this time of year, warm them up and they start, freeze them and its a crap shoot.

less then 500 milliamps draw though.
