Default Dodgy Mechanic

It's now Sept 6th, I finally got my vehicle towed to another mechanic's shop (after waiting 3 weeks from my request, to get my car back from 1st mechanic)

The new mechanic, after having a look at my car, refused to even attempt to perform a diagnostic test, as the previous mechanic had left the car in such a mess.

Do I have any legal recourse here, against the 1st mechanic?

Both shops are Range Rover specialists.

you may, but it will likely be small claims court. These trucks no longer have much value.

Hard to believe they are Rover specialists. What the hell did the first guy do? Or start to do?

I took it into the first mechanic, as it was not passing the emissions, after I had installed new plugs & leads/wires. He said he needed to reset the computer & it would probably pass.

He put it on his computer, tested it. Turned it off & it wouldn't start again. That was May 13th. I went on holiday the next day for two weeks, expecting it to be fixed on my return. He hadn't had time to fix it, after making a few attempts to.

This went on all summer, until I finally had it towed to another shop, who was his ex partner. ( these are two old English guys)

So here I am, with a vehicle that, apparently is in worse condition than when I dropped it off, so much so that the 2nd mechanic won't even look at it.

First put the model of your truck in your signature (go to the 'user cp' section).

Next put a 'looking for a quality Rover shop" in the appropriate sub-forum.
