Default Door Lock Actuator Unit

Ok, so I know what the problem is but have no idea how to fix it. My rear passenger side door will not lock and unlock with the rest of the doors. You can manually lock or unlock it and the actuator is working. Above the actuator inside the door is an "L" shaped lever with a connecting rod running from the tab we pull to the door lock. This rod crooks right above one side of the "L" while the other side is connected to the actuator. When this "L" turns it should move that rod to either lock or unlock the door, correct? How the heck do you get the rod connected with the "L" piece?? Thanks.

the one on the exterior handle?
if so you have to remove the exterior handle (torx bolts and slide it out)then reassemble with it in place
