Default Driver door open prompt on screen?

I am having trouble with my driver door reading closed. Eventhough the door is physically closed the screen prompts that the driver door is open. So after opening the door and slamming it shut a few times it stills give me the same info driver door open. And my battery is also going dead if I leave it sitting for a day. I don't know if this is due to the door being open or what, because I have to manually turn off the interior lights when I exit the vehicle or else hey will stay on. Any suggestions?

The door switch is most likely gone out.

Its the little button that pushes in when you shut the door.

I agree, check the door switch, also check the wire harness that goes from the door thru to the body of the truck, make sure it hasn't been pinched and you have a broken wire.
And whatever you do, QUIT slamming the damm door, all that is going to doo is break the window regulator and then you will have something to bitch about.

I may be a liitle slow but I can not find the door switch at all. Is it in a special location? I looked all over for it this morning and could not find it. Where exactly is it located on the RR. I will check the wire harness and make sure it is in tact. I will also quit slamming the damn door.

Your not slow. You did not mention your year and Country. Your post suggests a NAS P38A Range Rover. No switch, it's all in the door latch assembly. First, check the connections @ the door jam by removing the rubber grommet. Most likely, bad latch.

It is a P38 Range Rover. Is the latch assembly fairly easy to install? Where can I purchase just the latch assembly?

No, the latch assembly is fairly difficult to replace. You must purchase it from a Dealer or authorized parts center, Atlantic British or Rovers North.

Did you check the door jam connectors?
