Hi guys. I have a Landrover Freelander 2005 Td4 ( 2000cmc, diesel). About half an hour ago, on the road, the engine light came on and I couldn accelerate tha engine past 3000 rpms. Max speed was 80 km/h. Is there anything that can be fixed in my own garage this evening?

 

need to have the codes read. Most parts stores will read them for free, but won't reset the light. Get the proper 4 digit codes and get back to us. FYI, most on here have petrol engines, but may be able to help with the codes.

 

hi and thanks for the reply. unfortunately I had to go to a service because it was the fuel pump that is situated near the back right tire. they had to change also the oil filter because there was not enough pressure. this is weird because the filter was changed during service at about 2000 km, some 6 months ago. what is weirder is that this pump was changed only 20 000 km ago. they should last longer, am I wright? anyway, I consider this car to be a ****ty car. Previously I have owned an Opel Frontera, and I travelled 300 000 km of mountain road without any problems.
