Newbie to Rovers here... I need a little help from someone who know these engines really well. I recently acquired a 1999 D2 that had been abandoned on the interstate and picked up by a local tow company. Thinking it was going to just need new gaskets, I ordered them and pulled the heads off. Turns out the block is cracked. I found a 1996 motor on Craigs List. Can anyone tell me if it the same engine? It looks pretty similar but with a different intake. From what I can look up the D1 and the D2 both came with a 4 liter but that's not really conclusive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
