Default Engine tapping....

I've searched forums with different answers so bare with me......

2000 Discovery II
4.0L
87k miles

Engine has tapping sound (heard from outside vehicle and with windows down)

Tapping increases with RPMs
When engine is cold or warm
I tried to locate location under the hood with metal rod with no luck.
Engine oil looks good (don't know what weight) just bought it. Oil is clean though and looks great.
Everything starts great and runs out great.

thanks

What weight oil and brand do you use, what brand of oil filter and how often do you change it?

Land Rover of Nashville changed it before they sold it to me. I don't know what weight they use. The oil filter is a Land Rover filter. I will change it this weekend. What weight do you rec. I am in Nashville, Tn. (90 degrees during the day). The oil still looks very clean at the time.

thanks for your advice Mike
