my 2002 freelander with 2.5 v6 engine has a loud tapping from engine. it is louder when cold and faster with higher rpms. possible valve train or piston slap. does have anyone have any ideas or experience with this problem? is there any valve adjustments on this engine?

 

ive seen lifters making a loud tapping, is it a metal on metal or kinda like plastic on plastic, cause the intake on those have a variable intake runner and ive seen some that are really loud and you have to replace the intake plennum.

 

oh yeah, no valve adjustment.
