Ghetto Console Repair
I'm trying to get the cosmetic/interior in shape as well as the mechanical stuff. Last week I did a cheap fix for the sagging headliner. In the last few days I've been working on my center console. In particular, the window button panel. Like most of the Range Rover Classics I've seen, the top part has cracked and fallen away and the panel just flops around in the breeze.
I saw a video on You Tube with a guy who fixes his console "cubby box" w flat bar aluminum. I took it a step further and decided to use a wider bar and notch it for the window buttons and the E-brake. This will give it more stability when pushing on it.
I decided to practice on my parts truck since that console was shot. This piece is obviously a prototype and will be refined before I make a second one for my truck. I was thinking of painting it satin black or even rubber under coating to help it blend in.

Thoughts? opinions?
