Heavy Load Pack
We've been driving Defender 110 Hard Tops here in the UK for many years now. We always order them new from a dealership with the heavy load pack.
This allows us to carry around 1500kg.
I have very recently heard that this option is no longer going to be available, does anyone know why?
Will it be possible once this change has happened to buy a new vehicle and get it changed? Will it just be matter of fitting the parts and contacting VOSA ?
Anybody who can fill me in with as much imformation as possible will be very much appreciated. We've been driving these vehicles for years and are very happy with our setup. Will be very sad if it all changes.
Kind thanks.

Manufactures change options all the time. Do you actually load your truck so heavily that you need a load type suspension? Most people don't like that feature cause it can cause a more harsh ride. If not available any longer and you feel you need it then order some of the Load type coils from Rover and exchange them with what comes on the truck.
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, we use the vehicles for carrying heavy loads, and to only have 1000kg carrying ability is a drop down to 66% what we can carry at the moment. And when one is making a delivery 3000 miles away that is a massive drop in efficiency.
The ride is firm empty, but not undriveable, and many hundreds of thousands of miles have been done empty.
Surely simply exchanging coils with heavier duty ones will not change what it says on the chassis plate. Our vehicles are currently plated at 1500kg payload, something that will be changed to 1000kg on a new one as the option becomes no longer available.
We do sometimes use a trailer, which gives us a remarkable gross payload of 4500kg. But it would be fustrating to have to use this everytime we deliver, as it is more expensive on ferries and tolls, and only allows a slower top speed.
