I am new to the forum and have been a have had by land rover for only 2 months. I have a problem with my brakes and need some help. My brakes are pretty worn and I have purchased new ones to put on during spring break. Earlier tonight I was going out and I could not get my rover into gear. When I pushed in the break the release that holds the shifter did not move so I was stuck in park. After a few minutes of cussing and what not I realized that my brake lights are not lighting up when I press in the brake. After some time of mashing the brakes the lights came on and I was able to put it into gear. I'm not sure whether this could be from the brakes needing to be replaced, but personally I feel that this is an electrical problem. I'm in college and this is my only ride so I need to be back on the road as soon as possible.

 

From looking at the posts it seems that it could be my brake light switch, I checked on atlantic british and it doesn't cost that much. How would I get to this switch?

 

Ok, well I had a couple of drinks and went and found the switch, took it out and hit it with a screwdriver and now its working. I'm still going to order a new one though.
