Help! 1997 Landrover Discovery
Help! My 1997 Discovery started one morning ran for about 30 seconds, died and has not ran since. I have replaced the fuel pump and multi-function relay, neither one of those fixed it. Aside from towing it toa dealer (100 miles away) could you nice folks point me in the right direction? My shade tree mechanic has it now, he's been able to fix any problems I've had (I bought the big book for him)but this has him stumped. Please help, I need my baby back.
My mechanic seems to think that there is no fire getting to the fuel pump and he can't determine why, he thinks it has something to do with the anti-theft ( I lost the keyless entry clicker a long time ago). My mechanical knowledge is very limited, but if you could suggest what test to run I will relay that to my mechanic. Thanks for replying Disco Mike, I need all the help I can get.
Are you getting any check engine light, has he checked to see if there is any fuel pressure at the rail? You may have a crank sensor failing which will not allow the fuel pump to operate.
