HELP!!!!

I have friends borrowing my 2004 Disco. They are just north of the Golden Gate Bridge outside of San Francisco in an area called Mill Valley (94941). Unfortunately I do not live in this area - even remotely.

I am looking for a mechanic in that area that will not want both my arms and legs.

I don't know a mechanic but do you have any idea what the issue is?

 

So of all things it turned out to be a torn spark plug wire! And it was arcing.

 

AND...... I want to give HUGE props to J and G Automotive

For those of you that do NOT know - in a 2003 & 2004 Disco to replace the spark plug wires you have to REMOVE the intake and some other things. It is NOT a simple fix. Right Abran?

A dealer charges $1100 to the service :-)

Most places here in So Cal charge 4 hours labor plus the cost of the wire.

Well at J & G they figured a way to just replace this ONE wire, even thought they were closing, even though they didn't owe us anything!

Very honest. Very helpful. And I am grateful!

 

That's a great fix. I do know about replacing spark plug wires and replacing even one with the intake on is not a comfortable task. Good fix!
