Help! Fuel in cylinders and crank case??
Ok, I'm new to Land Rovers, but not entirely dense when it comes to vehicles, but I have only ever encountered this issue on a dirtbike that had a faulty needle seat valve and just poured fuel into the cylinders... Anyway, just bought a Land Rover that needed some "TLC" day 1 I managed to start it but it ran like crap, so I shut it off, checked for spark as it sounded "off" and do in fact have spark on all 8 (previous owner replaced plug wires themselves, will be going out shortly to determine whether they had them on the correct coils/plugs for firing order) The other issue I had encountered was after the initial start it was very hard to turn over, upon removing the plugs I discovered 2 of the cylinders were nearly full of gas and the crank has taken in quite a bit as well it seems... I pulled all the plugs at the same time, draped rags over the plug ports to reduce spray, and turned the motor over till the gas stopped rolling out (there is likely a little more as gravity most likely is not letting it all float out into the air lol) and clearly I need to drain the gas riddled oil from the case and replace it... However, I am a bit at a loss as to what may have caused this issue in the first place, it is a 1996 Land Rover Discovery se7 with 143k miles on it, and any information that may direct me to a solution would be highly appreciated...
